Migration and integration are hot issues all over Europe. At a prayer consultation with migrant pastors we met people who were flabbergasted by the fact that those countries who formerly sent missionaries to their home lands have now become mission fields themselves. These pastors also longed for more fellowship with local churches many of whom grant them hospitality in their church buildings, but have otherwise hardly any contact to their fellow Christians from overseas.

For many immigrants their churches have become like a safe haven in a strange world. These churches remain monocultural as they attract and reach out to those from their own cultures. As many local European churches they, too, need to be awakened to the fact that they are to be a mission force and witness to their surroundings. They need to have theological, biblical and intercultural training in order to do so.

What could Cornerstone’s role be in this?
